About Us
We Restore paper and parchment archives, including historic documents, books, manuscripts, maps, photographs and paintings, and all sorts of archives. We do preservation, conservation, and restoration for libraries, museums, archives departments, government bodies, cultural organizations, art galleries, and private bodies. We also provide solutions for storage, conservation plans, and treatments of restoration of archives and fumigation for library material to keep save them from damage.
Our Story
Providing Paper Restoration Services Since 2015
The purpose is to restore to provide longevity to the archives, photographs, and paintings, as they are an important part of the history and heritage of Pakistan. We believe in the protection, preservation, and
promotion of our written History.
Archives Conservation Laboratories Pvt. Ltd started as a project under the umbrella of Rashdi’s Memorial Library in 2015 containing all research work conducted by Pir Hussamuddin Rashdi and Pir Ali Mohammad Rashdi.
In March 2020 ACL was registered as a Pvt. Ltd company with its pilot Project Being Cataloguing and digitizing archives conserved by the Rashdi brothers.
The company boasts a team of internationally trained conservators who have successfully digitized scores of historic archives including manuscripts, maps, photographs, and letters, and continue working on conserving many rare documents, from pre and post-independence era, important to the history of Pakistan.
Why Conserve Paper?
Books & archives from an important part of a nation’s heritage, both in tangible(i.e. all written history) and integible (i.e. spoken history and lore carried from generation to generation in the form of stories and events). Archives help open a door into the events of the past as well as lay foundations better understanding of history and hence direct a better way forward for the future.
