ABOUT ACL
ACL is a first-of-its-kind, State of the art Paper Conservation Laboratory in Pakistan that offers conservation and restoration services for all kinds of archival material. We are passionate about preserving and helping conserve our written history.
ACL provides services for preservation, restoration, and technical study of all kinds of historical material ranging from imprints on paper, manuscripts, letters, books drawings to maps and photographs.
The internationally trained and experienced Conservators and Collections care staff works together with our clients to assess in detail the project needs and meet restoration and longevity requirements of archives. The Laboratory is designed to provide an ideal work environment for completing archival restoration by controlling exposure to light fluctuations in temperature and relative humidity and pollutants.
Our conservators have been trained and worked in Italy conserving records and manuscripts from the 16th Century, as well as working nationally to record and preserve all historic research material of a part of Rashdi’s Memorial Library.

Archives Conservation Laboratories Pvt. Ltd started as a project under the umbrella of Rashdi’s Memorial Library in 2015.
In March 2020 ACL was registered as a Pvt. Ltd company and with its pilot project being cataloging and digitizing archives conserved by the Rashdi’s brothers.

Step 1
Consultation & On-Site visit
We offer on-site visits as well as consultations in our lab, to assess the condition of the archives. Our highly skilled staff offers consultation for all kinds of writings and drawings on paper.
Step 2
Conservation Treatment Plans
Condition reports and proposals are then prepared to suggest the treatments to help prevent archives from further decay and damage.

Treatment
The archives are treated in a lab controlled environment to prevent further losses of historic writing and images on paper.
Step 4
Final Delivery
The archives are secured in customized storage boxes and arrangements are made for delivery and/or pickup.
